Minecraft PvP Tiers Explained: What HT1 to LT5 Mean

How the five tiers, and the High and Low halves inside them, work.

Five tiers, two halves

Every gamemode on MCBETIERS ranks players in five tiers. Tier 1 is the strongest group on the site and Tier 5 the weakest. Each tier is then split in half: the High half and the Low half.

That means the full ladder runs HT1, LT1, HT2, LT2, HT3, LT3, HT4, LT4, HT5 and finally LT5. HT1 is the highest rank in a gamemode and LT5 the lowest.

One tier per gamemode

Tiers are not a single number. Every gamemode has its own tier list, so your profile holds eleven tiers at once. A player can be HT1 in Mace, LT2 in Sword and HT3 in UHC, and all of them are true at the same time.

The overall list

The overall leaderboard is not a separate ranking. It adds the points behind your eleven tiers together, so players who are strong in several gamemodes sit highest.

Retired tiers

When a player stops competing, the tiers they hold can be retired. A retired tier stays on the profile as history, but it no longer earns points and no longer counts towards the overall leaderboard.
